Scriptures about Debt
There are plenty of scriptures about debt and finances, but the majority of American Christians choose to ignore them. Don’t be one of them and take the word of God seriously.
Deuteronomy 28:12
The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
Exodus 22:25
If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest.
Proverbs 24:27
Prepare your work outside and make it ready for yourself in the field; afterwards, then, build your house.
Psalm 37:25
I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.
Proverbs 22:26-27
Do not be a man who strikes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you
1 Timothy 6:7-10
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Hebrews 13:5
Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.
